ASEAN
ASEAN or Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is a region organization which was founded on August 8, 1967 in Bangkok Thailand. Asean was founded by 5 countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, at that time represented by their respective ministers, namely Adam Malik (Indonesia) as Indonesian Foreign Minister, Narsicos Ramos (Philippines) as Philippine Foreign Minister, Thanat Khoman (Thailand) as Thai Foreign Minister, Tun. Abdul Razak (Malaysia) as Deputy Prime Minister concurrently Minister of Defense and Minister of National Development Malaysia and S. Rajaratnam (Singapore) as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
They meet in Bangkok Thailand to following up the joint declaration by holding a meeting and signing the ASEAN Declaration or Bangkok Declaration which marked its foundation the ASEAN Organization. Qoute by kemenlu.go.id the contents of the bangkok declaration are as follows :

- accelerating economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the Southeast Asian region;
- enhancing regional peace and stability;

- maintain close cooperation among existing regional and international organizations;
- enhance cooperation to advance education, training and research in the Southeast Asian region.
