CAPTAIN CZI POSTHUMOUS PIERRE ANDRIES TENDEAN
(MY WHOLE FAMILY HAS BEEN A LOT OF ASSISTED BY THE STATE,
NOW IT'S MY TIME TO RETURNED TO THE STATE
WHAT DO YOU WANT?)
Captain CZI Posthumously Pierre Andries Tendean has the full name Pierre Andries Tendean. Born in Jakarta, more precisely in CBZ hospital (R.S Cipto Mangunkusumo now) February 21, 1939 died in Lubang Buaya 1 October 1965 at the age of 26 years. He is the second child of the couple Dr. A.L Tendean, a psychiatric specialist from Minahasa, North Sulawesi with Maria Elizabeth Cornet, a woman of French descent. He has 2 sisters, Mitzie Farre Tendean who was born on December 30, 1933 and Rooswidiati who was born in Magelang.
He started his education in 1945/1946 by entering elementary school in Magelang, where he was known as a very friendly person and did not differentiate between his friends. However, in 1951 he moved to Semarang to follow his father's duties as the head of the Tawang mental hospital and he continued his education at SMP Negeri 1 Semarang after passing the school entrance examination there. He graduated in 1955 and continued his education at State Senior High School (SMA Negeri 1 Semarang) and graduated in 1958. Since junior high school he has been very prominent in the field of Exact and Natural Sciences. When he graduated from high school he graduated with satisfactory grades, in addition to the satisfying subjects of Exact Science and Nature, he also got good grades in English and German. He is also prominent in sports, especially basketball and volleyball, he has always been a field star in inter-school competitions. No wonder he was so famous not only at his school but all schools in the city of Semarang at that time.
After high school he wanted to continue his education at the National Military Academy (AMN), because since he was a child, he always saw young freedom fighters coming to his father to ask for medical supplies for guerrilla interests. His mother also actively helped the guerrillas at that time. On that basis, he wanted to choose the way of life as a military officer. But unfortunately, his ideals were not in line with what his parents wanted. His mother wanted him to continue his education to the Faculty of Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, while his father wanted him to continue his education at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, but if he was not too happy with the Faculty of Medicine, he could continue to the Faculty of Engineering. However, he was unable to comply with the wishes of his parents because of his unanimous determination, only his brother supported his decision to join AMN. In order to relieve his parents' hearts, he continued to participate in the selection at the Faculty of Engineering, ITB and Faculty of Medicine UI, but he did not take the test questions at the two faculties so he did not pass the two Faculties on the two campuses. Knowing that their child did not graduate, his parents were forced to allow his only son to enter AMN.
1958, he took a series of tests to enter AMN which in 1962 changed to the Army Technical Academy (ATEKAD) and was successfully accepted as a cadet candidate. In order to fulfill the wishes of his parents and on the advice of General A.H Nasution, he chose the Engineering Department in order to continue his education at the Faculty of Engineering ITB. In that same year, he got his first experience in the military world, namely following the PRRI crackdown in West Sumatra. At that time he was a cadet Corporal and participated in the Sapta Marga Operation. And he graduated from ATEKAD in 1961 with the rank of second lieutenant.
